Why buy a Travel Rig?

Don't be fooled by their small size, travel rigs deliver amazing results. There are two main reasons for this.

• There are many huge deep space targets which only small telescopes with their wide FOV can bag. The Andromeda galaxy is 5x wider than the moon, as is the American and Pelican nebula, the Orion nebula is massive and in fact the whole constellation of Orion is jam packed with hot glowing gas and next to it are the foreboding dark dust lanes of Taurus, I mean to be honest point your rig anywhere across the milky way and you r travel rig might well find something interesting that no one else has caught. 

• Portability: a travel rig somewhere truly dark will kick the pants out of a set up costing five times as much that's shooting in the city or even the suburbs. I tend to go to really dark places on my hols so having a small rig is an essential part of my kit.

• Modern astrophotgraphy cameras can transform you travel rig into a powerful deep space astrograph capable of shooting smaller targets (like M51 ) too. You can get the best of both world.
